Tiga
Tiga’s new album Sexor is one of the most eagerly awaited debut albums from an artist described by many as groundbreaking. Early reactions to the record have been electric as Sexor finds Tiga in spine-tingling form. Tiga sings on every track with guest vocals by Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters. Taking inspiration from some of the world’s filthiest underground night spots, Sexor lives up to its title by delivering a slick and yet still primal record. Tiga recorded half of his album in Ghent with Stephen and David Dewaele of Belgian band Soulwax (aka occasional mash-up kings 2 Many DJs), and half in Stockholm with Swedish techno producer Jesper Dahlbäck. After years of excursions and diversions, Tiga has crafted a brilliant 14 track set of free-roaming but coherent, thumpingly invigorating without sounding samey, full of beats and tunes, electronic music that rocks.
"Your indie disco needs this!" – NME
“The euphoric glam-pop of Tiga is as untamed as his name suggest. Think Goldfrapp spliced with Jake Shears (indeed, the Scissor Sisters frontman provides vocals on the first single) with a bit of Tom Ford’s dress sense thrown in…” – Esquire
"…A genuinely thrilling journey... a brilliant dream-state narrative" – ID Magazine
“Hot electro from Montreal’s Tiga.” – Spin.com
“Electronic, filthy, nasty music.” – Loaded
“…An album full of hooky songs… all shrewd electro-etched delights.” – Record Collector
“…The handsome devil has given Sexor 13 of his best. Catchy, original synth-pop hits aplenty…” – Flux
“This is a cool dance album, no doubt about it…” – Uncut
