Idlewild
Scottish rockers Idlewild, whose new album, The Remote Part, hits U.S. stores on March 25th, will kick off a stateside club tour on March 5th in Boston with an expanded new lineup, making a stop at the South-by-Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas on March 14th. The band will then support Pearl Jam on select dates of their U.S. summer tour in late May and June. All confirmed dates listed below.
The follow-up to the group's critically acclaimed 2001 album, 100 Broken Windows, The Remote Part was an immediate top-three hit upon release in the U.K., spawning four singles and now certified gold. Synthesizing elements of its two predecessors into a panoramic new vision for the band, The Remote Part introduces a stirring, strikingly assured progression of the band's rousing sound. NME called it "their best album yet...practically flawless."
Formed in Edinburgh in 1995 as a quartet of distortion-wielding punks, Idlewild instantly ranked among the brightest of the new, punk-inflected British bands, soon breaking through with U.S. critics and fans as their sound became bigger and more melodic.
Idlewild embarks on this U.S. tour with an expanded lineup featuring new bassist Gavin Fox and former touring guitarist Allan Stewart joining the band full-time.
