Gorillaz Monkey Around with Journey to the West

Gorillaz musical mastermind Damon Albarn and artistic puppet master Jamie Hewlett have again combined forces to create yet another fresh idea. Sticking to their primate fascination, they have given birth to Monkey: Journey to the West -- one of Albarn's "Circus Opera" projects.

The Mandarin soundtrack to the opera, recorded by European and Chinese musicians and produced by Albarn, is set for release under XL Recordings this Fall in the US. Adding his artistic fervor to the project, Jamie Hewlett will provide the visuals for the album.
