Lollapalooza 2004 Cancels All Dates

All dates of Lollapalooza 2004 have been unexpectedly cancelled due to poor ticket sales, according to the event’s official website. Although the tour boasts one of the best line-ups in its 13-year history, with bands such as the Pixies, Morrissey, the Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse and Sonic Youth, it inexplicably did not generate sufficient ticket sales to keep the tour afloat this summer.

This morning, promoters and organizers decided to cut their losses (which tally up to several million dollars) and call off the tour. The tour, which was slated to run from July 14 in Auburn, Washington through August 25 in Dallas, Texas was supposed to have a two-day stop at each venue. Everyone who purchased tickets will be issued a full refund.
