The Clash's Album London Calling to be Reissued
by Jenny Tatone | 00.00.0000

Epic Records is reissuing the Clash’s history-making album London Calling to include a recently discovered set of previously unheard demos. The expanded edition of the pioneering punk band’s most classic album will become available September 21.

Reportedly featuring tracks that did not make London Calling's final cut, the reissue’s bonus disc comes courtesy of a recent uncovering of old tapes at guitarist/vocalist’s Mick Jones' storage space.

London Calling: The 25th Anniversary Edition will also feature a 45-minute documentary DVD consisting of footage gathered around the same time London Calling was recorded in the late '70s. Captured by longtime biographer Don Letts, the DVD offers clips from the studio, previously unreleased live performances and interviews with Jones, the late singer/guitarist Joe Strummer, bassist Paul Simonon and the band’s first drummer Topper Headon, as well as a conversation with band manager Kosmo Vinyl.

Hailed as one of the best albums in punk, London Calling was first released in 1979, and would eventually push the Clash to legendary status with such politically-charged, reggae-flavored punk cuts as "Spanish Bombs," "Clampdown," "I’m Not Down" and "The Guns of Brixton."
