*IDLEWILD will return to the US in September, with a just-announced show 9/6 at Paradise in Boston. No other US dates were available at the time this was written.

*EMBRACE will make their Boston debut July 28 at the Paradise, with tickets onsale soon. The band has also announced a last-minute show TONIGHT (Tuesday 6/14) at Mercury Lounge in NYC. It's an early show - 7pm.

*TEENAGE FANCLUB return to the US for the first time since 2001 this summer with 2 shows at NY's Bowery (7/22-23) and August 5 at Bimbo's in SF. So far no Boston date has been announced (TFC haven't been in Boston since 1997), but there are days off on both sides of the NYC shows, so there's a possibility for a Boston date.

*SIGUR ROS return to the US in September, playing Boston's newly restored Opera House on September 15, as well as 2 dates at NY's Beacon Theater on
9/12-13 and the Paramount in Oakland on October 1.

*This week at "The Pill" - it's Soul Night featuring guest DJ Nick from "Soul-le-lu-jah" - come by to hear all of your favorite mod and northern soul favorites from the early days of The Pill @ Upstairs Lounge. Suits and Vespas are optional.

*Fortunately for COLDPLAY, The Crazy Frog did not have an album coming out last week, which allowed "X&Y" to claim the top spot on the UK albums chart, bouncing OASIS to number 2 and THE WHITE STRIPES to debut at #3. THE TEARS'
debut album came in at a disappointing #15. Apparently it'll be "There Go The Tears" soon.

*In other chart news, OASIS' "Don't Believe The Truth" was the highest debut on the US Billboard Albums chart last week, entering at #12 and besting the first-week sales of the previous 2 albums.

*THE KILLERS will play a secret (well, not anymore) show at Irving Plaza in New York on June 20.

*TURIN BRAKES will play in New York on July 14th at Bowery Ballroom with WEST INDIAN GIRL.

*From the Berkeley-based Mod Lang Records' mailing list comes the listing of a 12" DJ mix of THE STONE ROSES "She Bangs The Drums". The limited edition vinyl features the original mix and a new remixed version.

*BABYSHAMBLES have set July 25 as the UK release date for their new single, "Fuck Forever", first mentioned in last week's BA Newsletter.

*ELBOW's third album will be called "The Stops", and it's slated for a US release on September 6.

*London's XFM radio is expanding north, soon to be on 97.7 FM in Manchester, meaning a major audience expansion for the UK's #1 alternative/indie radio station.

*Boston-turned-NY blogger Ashley (www.the-wicked.org - always a source of BA Newsletter stories and show listings) brought this night to my attention.
Seems to happen every now and then, and the next one is on July 8 at 24 Seven Lounge in the Lower East Side. The night is called "Mondo"
(www.mondo-nyc.com) and is an indie night focusing on rarities, album cuts, and as they like to say "great songs that people dance in their bedrooms to".

*Some more information brought to you by a blogger - this comes from Torr's new site at www.torr.typepad.com - TV appearances by KAISER CHIEFS (6/14 on Jay Leno), EMBRACE (6/15 on Jimmy Kimmel), CAESARS (6/16 on Conan) and NICK HORNBY on the Late Late Show Friday night (6/17).

*HARD FI will make their NYC debut on July 19 at Mercury Lounge.

*ARCADE FIRE will return to NYC on September 14, which falls during the CMJ
2005 music festival and convention. The venue has not been announced as of yet.

*NEW PORNOGRAPHERS will return to the road with shows in the New York area in late June, and then returning to the road in September for 2 shows at SF's Bimbo's and over to The Roxy in Boston on October 11. DESTROYER and IMMACULATE MACHINE will open the fall dates.

*Attention record labels, bands, promoters, and others who send music and promotional goodies to British Accents. I have changed my home address, so please e-mail me for the updated residential address, or continue to use my work address if you have it.
