The Dandy Warhols Get Packin'
by Staff | 00.00.0000

Leave it to a band that calls their forthcoming album Odditorium Or Warlords of Mars to have a tour that isn't really quite a tour and more of a "backpacking" experience. The Dandy Warhols have announced a promotional "Suitcase Tour" in which they'll play electric sets at radio stations in five cities across the country using only the instruments that fit into a single suitcase (besides their guitars) during the day. At night they'll throw free parties at local clubs in honor of their fifth album, Odditorium or Warlords of Mars, out Sept. 13 on Capitol Records.

The band will also perform for the first time at CBGB's, paying their respects to the endangered NYC club during the CMJ Music Marathon in September. A full U.S. tour will kick off in November.

The band recently headlined a stage at Lollapalooza, held in Chicago's Grant Park, where they reunited onstage with their Dig! co-stars Brian Jonestown Massacre for an extended medley of songs.

They'll perform lead single "Smoke It" on Live with Regis and Kelly on the album's street date.
