Seu Jorge Does (North) America Everybody’s favorite Brazilian David Bowie cover-artist Seu Jorge is back in the good ol’ U.S. of A. With a mix of samba-based jams and Portuguese Bowie translations, Jorge is setting out on a string of North American spring and summer dates starting Thursday in New York opening for legendary Cape Verde islander Cesaria Evora. Also, keep your eyes and (mostly) ears open for Jorge on fellow Brazilian Cibelle’s new album, The Shine of Dried Electric Leaves, which is set for release in North America on May 9 via Six Degrees Records. Jorge lent Cibelle a hand with songwriting, singing, guitar and flute, so the liner notes should be chock-full of the name of the “coolest man on earth”—according to The Life Aquatic director Wes Anderson.
