British songwriting icon Ray Davies of Kinks fame, is releasing the Thanksgiving Day EP this week just in time for turkey day. The five-song EP arrives in stores on November 22nd, preceding the eagerly anticipated release of his first solo album, Other People's Lives, set for release February 7, 2006.

Part of a group of songs written to express Davies' newfound desire to "discover America," the EP’s title track is very much in keeping with the songwriter’s famously brilliant knack for subtle character studies. Additionally, Thanksgiving Day will bring in some holiday cheer as proceeds benefit New Orleans music education programs.
